Welcome at the Department of Statistics of the Ludwig-Maximilians-University Munich. Our department is located in Ludwigstraße 33, vis-á-vis the Siegestor.

We are responsible for all aspects of statistical data analysis in research and teachings. To our major students we offer modern Master and Bachelor Degrees in one of the leading locations of Statistics in Germany. In addition we offer a wide range of service activities as minor subject for students from other fields of study.

Our core competence in research is the development and appliance of statistical methods in social and economic science. The research at the highest international level is based on an interaction between appliance and methodical innovation in cooperation with partners inside and outside the University. One central focus is the knowledge transfer into society through the statistical consulting lab (StabLab).
